Score Higher on That IQ TestThis is a featured page

An IQ test measures the potential an individual has for learning. People used to believe that IQ remained stagnant and as children developed, the score would always remain the same. That's simply not true. You can raise your IQ test scores. The more you learn, the more you tend to raise your IQ, but it doesn't have to take that long to increase your scores rapidly and far more dramatically. Many people feel tension when taking the IQ test. Of course, it's because they want to score as high as possible, but this tension actually tends to make people receive lower scores. Your brain can't work efficiently when you're doing too many things at one time. If you're fretting, you're not focusing on the test. Before you take an IQ test, learn relaxation exercises. The more relaxed you are during a How DUMB are YOU?test, the better you'll score. That doesn't mean that you can sit back, take a snooze and expect your score to be MENSA level. It simply means that you allow your instincts to work and take the test in a relaxed demeanor. One very simple relaxation technique is deep breathing. Simply inhale deeply through your nose to the count of ten. Purse your lips in a circle and blow out the air to the count of ten. You're blowing all the tension and fear out of your body. Focus only on your breathing. As you do this, you feel your body relaxing with every breath. You can use this simple technique right before you take an IQ test, but practice it frequently for several weeks before the test date. While you practice the relaxation technique, close your eyes and create a blank screen in your brain. The screen should look like one you find in movie theatres. You now become the star of your own movie. Picture yourself on the screen taking the test. You have a smile on your face as you zip through the pages. Continue to enjoy the testing process and notice how relaxed you are as you go through each page. You're really enjoying the test taking process. You hand the test paper in and the screen grows dark. You now see yourself again. This time, you have your results and you're more than happy, you're ecstatic.Another simple exercise is self-talk. At one time, most people did this one alone in a room so people wouldn't think they were crazy, but with the advent of Bluetooth hands free cell phone technology, it's now acceptable to talk to yourself in public, as long as you have an earpiece in your ear. Say phrases aloud such as, "I am a great test taker." "I am smart." Speak in the third person about yourself. If your name is Bob Smith, say, "Bob Smith is one of the smartest people I know." Speak in second person too. "Bob Smith, you are one of the brightest people I know." While this might sound a little silly, it convinces your brain that you are smart and in return, your brain directs every fiber of your body to make that come true. You'll score higher on your IQ test just to prove it.Using the two simple techniques can help you to score higher without spending years to do it. Most people that score well on any test simply approach it differently. They're relaxed and looking forward to it. These techniques help you increase that relaxation and eliminate the worry that often makes you score lower on an IQ test.
